NHL Prop Bets For Friday, May 13: Barkov has bite

Article content

Three more Stanley Cup Playoff series could come to a close tonight. The Penguins will host the Rangers. The Panthers try to eliminate the Capitals in Washington and the Stars hope to force a Game 7 against Calgary with a win at home in Dallas. Let’s take a look at four prop bets worth considering.

Aleksander Barkov Over 3.5 Shots +110

The Panthers captain has found his footing of late in this series. In the last two games alone, Barkov has 10 shots on goal on 15 shot attempts. During the regular season, Florida was 5th in the NHL in shots per game on the road (33.6) so they should be able to generate some offence against a Capitals team that is allowing 33 shots on goal in the series. Also of note, Barkov has hit the over on this prop in each of his last four games.

Artemi Panarin Over 2.5 Shots +100

With captain Sidney Crosby out due to injury, the Penguins will be much weaker defensively, which could open things up for the Rangers star. He leads the team in shot attempts with 33 (19 of them coming in the last three games), but has only hit the net 14 times in the series. In a game where they had to win, Panarin skated 23:10 in Game 5. With their season on the line again, I’d expect the Rangers to lean heavily on the “Breadman”.

Evgeny Kuznetsov Over 0.5 Goals +200

With an O/U total of 6.5, Vegas is expecting some offence between these two teams. While Alex Ovechkin is clearly the #1 option for Washington, Kuznetsov has gotten his fair share of looks with nine high-danger scoring chances in the series. Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has had his issues, sporting a .902 SV% in five games which is a plus in Kuznetsov’s favour.

Jason Robertson Over 0.5 Goals +200

Goals have been hard to come by in this series as both teams have been stout defensively and had incredible goaltending. But someone has to score in order to win and why not Robertson?

The Stars forward had 42 goals during the regular season and in the two home games this series has 11 individual scoring chances. I’m willing to bet on the talent and that Robertson finds a way.
