A baby boy was snatched and killed by a gang of monkeys in Tanzania.
The infant’s mother was reportedly breastfeeding the one-month-old child outside her home in the East African country on June 18 when the monkeys converged and took Luhaiba Said.
The baby’s mother, Shayima Said, screamed as it unfolded, but the monkeys did not stop, said Kigoma regional police commander James Manyama, according to the Citizen.
“The child was with his mother outside their house when a troop of monkeys invaded the house and took him,” Manyama said.
“She screamed for help and villagers rushed to her house to assist her in getting her child – identified as Luhaiba Said – back from the troop of monkeys.”
Villagers found the monkeys and tried to free Luhaiba, but Manyama said in the struggle “he got inured on the head and neck.”
