A Florida man is giving his pregnant dog all the credit for his “life-changing” $2-million lottery win.
Leonard Linton, 42, of Pinetta, Fla., is celebrating with his best friend, Ivy, thanks to a $10 scratch ticket he picked up because of his expecting dachschund.
Linton got a call that Ivy was not feeling well so to get to her as quickly as possible, he took a different route home.
Along that route, he made a quick pit stop at a convenience store where, unbeknownst to him at the time, he purchased the winning ticket.
“I still can’t believe it,” he told Florida Lottery.
Linton claimed a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,645,000 at the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee, according to a press release.
