Kim Tae Ri will reportedly give life to the main character of the webtoon-based K-drama “Jung Nyeon.”
“Jung Nyeon” will tell the story of a Mokpo girl who doesn’t own or learn anything in the 1950s. She decided to enter a women’s Gukgeuk Company because she aims to become rich. This series will base its story on the Naver webtoon of the same name.
It was revealed that Kim Tae Ri’s character in the 2016 film “The Handmaiden” was the model reference in the webtoon.
On November 16th, several media outlets reported that Kim Tae Ri will be the protagonist of the upcoming drama. Her agency Management MMM responded to the casting reports. According to them, this drama is one of the works that Kim Tae Ri is currently reviewing.
“Jung Nyeon” will reportedly start filming in the second half of 2023.
If Kim Tae Ri confirms her casting, this will be her second upcoming project for 2023. It was recently revealed that the actress will also lead the upcoming drama “The Demon” written by Kim Eun Hee (“Jirisan,” “Kingdom,” and “Signal”). Kim Tae Ri will be working with Oh Jung Se, Hong Kyung, and Jin Seon Kyu in the k-drama.
In 2022, Kim Tae Ri collected more fans after starring in the hit tvN series “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” with Nam Joo Hyuk, Bona, Choi Hyun Wook, Lee Joo Myung, and Seo Jae Hee.
She also worked alongside Ryu Joon Yeol, Kim Woo Bin, So Ji Sub, Yeom Jung Ah, and Jo Woo Jin in the film “Alienoid.”
