Baek Sung Hyun, Kim Gyu Ri, and Kang Shin Il will reportedly join new movie by “Silmido” director

Baek Sung Hyun, Kim Gyu Ri, and Kang Shin Il are in talks to join the upcoming movie “Spot of Peace”

“Spot of Peace” will be directed by Kang Seung Yong and it will start filming on July 26th. Director Kang Seung Yong is known to have worked on several hit movies namely “Gangnam 1970,” “The King and the Clown,” “Silmido,” and more. 

The movie will revolve around the home of three generations of a family in Gwangju in May 1980. This story has been made into several films such as “A Taxi Driver,” “26 Years,” and “May 18.” In particular, the story of ordinary families will be portrayed from a new perspective, focusing on Hwapyeong Banjeom, the home of life.

Baek Sung Hyun will reportedly play the role of Cheol Su’s uncle who’s doing his best to get recognized by his family. He will be forced to run their store with his father on behalf of his brother who’s on the run. 

Kim Gyu Ri received the offer to play the role of Cheol Su’s mom. She is the daughter in law of Hwapyeong Banjeom and takes care of the family on behalf of her husband who is running away for some reason.

Kang Shin Il got the offer to play as Cheol Su’s grandfather. He opened a Chinese restaurant from his hard earned money so that he can make a living for his family.

The premiere details and other cast members of “Spot of Peace” are yet to be revealed.

Baek Sung Hyun is currently part of the ongoing drama “Voice 4: Judgment Hour” with Lee Ha Na, Song Seung Heon, Son Eun Seo, Lee Kyu Hyung, and more. He will also join the upcoming dramas “One Roof, Two Families,” “Mojito,” and “The Allies – A Time for a Green Hero.”

Aside from “Spot of Peace,” Kim Gyu Ri will return to the drama scene with the upcoming series “Green Mothers Club” with Lee Yo Won, Choo Ja Hyun, and more. 

Lastly, Kang Shin Il will also star in an upcoming 2021 drama “Police University” together with Cha Tae Hyun, B1A4’s Jung Jin Young, and f(x)’s Krystal.
