OCN’s hit 2018 series “Player” will reportedly return with a new season.
On July 12th several news outlets shared that the OCN drama “Player” starring Song Seung Heon, f(x) Krystal Jung, Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Seok will possibly have a second season. According to reports, for the new season, the police redemption team will be heading overseas this time. It was also shared that Song Seung Heon, Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Seok will be returning to the drama and director Go Jae Hyun will once again lead the drama.
The first season of “Player” revolves around a police redemption team who got assigned to find and dig up dirty money that was illegally collected. The team consists of a swindler, a fighter, a hacker, and a talented driver.
For the second season, the production team of the drama aims to create a global project and they will be on overseas locations. The production is currently checking out world-class cities and famous resorts overseas. The series will be produced by Studio Dragon.
The second season of “Player” will reportedly air in the second half of 2023.
If Song Seung Heon confirms his comeback to the drama, this will be his first drama for 2023. He will star in the upcoming 2022 series “Black Knight” with Kim Woo Bin, Esom, Kang Yoo Seok, and Kim Eui Sung.
This will also be the first drama of Lee Si Eon next year. He recently made a special appearance in the series “Café Minamdang.” He will also join the upcoming drama “Bad Prosecutor.”
Meanwhile, Tae Won Seok will first star in the Netflix series “Glitch.” If he also confirms his casting for “Player” Season 2, this will be his first drama for 2023.
