Jeon Hye Jin and Girls Generation’s Choi Soo Young will reportedly work together in the upcoming drama “Namnam” (literal translation).
On June 22, media outlets revealed that Jeon Hye Jin and Choi Soo Young have been picked as the main characters of the upcoming webtoon-based drama “Namnam.”
Jeon Hye Jin’s agency HODU&U Entertainment responded to the reports. The agency stated that “Namnam” is one of the proposed projects for the actress and she is currently reviewing it. Choi Soo Young’s agency Saram Entertainment also gave their side regarding the casting news. Just like Jeon Hye Jin, the idol-actress is also still in discussion to appear in the upcoming series.
“Namnam” will narrate the story of a mother who has no countermeasures and a cool daughter in one house. The series will base its story on the webtoon of the same name by Jung Young Rong.
Jeon Hye Jin was offered the role of Eun Mi, the mother who has no plan B. Choi Soo Young on the other hand will possibly play the role of the cool daughter named Jin Hee.
The broadcast details of “Namnam” has not yet been finalized.
For this year, Jeon Hye Jin will star in the upcoming film “Hunt” with Lee Jung Jae, Jung Woo Sung, Go Yoon Jung, Heo Sung Tae, and Kim Jong Soo. The actress last appeared in the 2021 drama “Uncle.”
Meanwhile, “Namnam” will be added to the list of upcoming dramas by Choi Soo Young. She will be part of the upcoming series “Send a Fan Letter” and “Tell Me Your Wish.” Choi Soo Young will also return to Girls Generation this year as the group will kick off with full group promotions for their upcoming 15th-anniversary debut.
